Our Story

About HERitage

Born from a belief that every runner carries the strength of generations.

How It Began

A run that changed everything

Run for HERitage was founded in 2020 by a group of runners who felt something was missing from the Indian marathon scene — a space that truly celebrated womanhood, not just athleticism. The first event, a small 5K in Mumbai with 200 runners, sold out in 48 hours.

Five years later, we host 1st edition · Kolkata 2026, welcome over 12,000 runners per season, and have built a community that extends far beyond race day.

Every route is chosen because of its significance to women's history in that city. Every medal is handcrafted by women artisans. Every event is organised entirely by women.
